Introduction
Rheodyne is one of the leading suppliers of precision fluidic platforms,
fluidic assemblies, and fluidic assembly subsystems for the worldwide
instrument industry. Since its founding in 1976, Rheodyne has become the
leading supplier of high pressure injectors and switching platforms for
analytical instruments. Rheodyne's primary market and customer focus is
the OEM market.
History
In 1974, work was begun on manual, high pressure injection valve. At this
time, Rheodyne was located in Berkeley, California.
In 1976, Rheodyne
introduced two "basic" injector type valves. Shortly thereafter,
Rheodyne introduced a revolutionary valve design and its associated manufacturing
technology that today remain an important part of the Company's core technology.
At about the same time, the Company introduced yet another injection type
valve by combining outstanding reliability with a patented zero sample
loss feature and superior performance. This valve quickly became the injector
of choice worldwide.
In 1980, Rheodyne
moved to a small industrial building in Cotati (Sonoma County), California.
In 1988, Rheodyne
introduced another family of manual valves that remain today as the universally
recognized industry standard.
